千夢 chimu (a thousand dreams) is how my first name Tim is pronounced by native Japanese speakers. The Japanese tradition to officially sign documents and artworks with the 判子 hanko (seal stamp) has fascinated me ever since and the glorious painter Thomas Klingenstein has further inspired me to find my very own stamp. The hanko usually represents the name of the artist or person in question, and as with many non-Japanese names, the appropriate Kanji symbols barely exist, furthermore, our names have transformed over time, barely bearing resemblance to their original meaning. I hence chose the phonetic rendition of my first name which happens to coincide with my purpose.

Traditionally from right to left: 千 sen 1000 夢 yume dream, prononced: chimu (Tim)
I am Tim Georg Heinze and I am part of your family. This time I was born into Berlin — behind an iron curtain which is slowly being rebuilt during our restless sleep thereafter.
In the near future I shall share my work in analog photography, algorithmic composition, sculpture design and musical explorations in this very space, you are welcome.
